All I want to do is choose options for windows media player 11 in autoplay but they don't exist and I can't find a way to add them, anyone have a general idea for this?
I've tried this 'AutoPlay Repair Wizard', and get the problem, but this utility could not repair the problem. What should i do next?
I get the same resulting log file as you have in the last screen shot… Service Silent Shell Deaf. Did you ever figure out how to fix it after the Microsoft tool gave up with that result? Well I have an autoplay window popping up every few seconds. It doesn't say which drive it is associated with, and is very disruptive, especially when I'm trying to do anything on my computer.
This tool didn't fix it, even though I scanned all the drives. I do have to say this is a great tool and i wish it fixed malfunctions but were not that fare in to A. Using autofix. In desperation I downloaded a bios upgrade for the drive and flashed the rom. Not as difficult as it seems. Once this choice is made, the dialog is not shown again. However, in Windows XP Service Pack 1 SP1 , if a new application that can handle a particular media type is added to the computer, the dialog is once again presented to the user, giving them the opportunity to select the new application as the default AutoPlay action.
Applications can also set themselves as the default selection when they are installed. Windows XP SP1 also adds a feature that retains the user's choice of AutoPlay action if they do not click the Always do the selected action box. If a user chooses an AutoPlay action for a single instance, the next time that dialog is presented for that media type, the same action is the default selection. For an application to be included in the list of possible actions, it must be registered with AutoPlay.
The following dialog box is displayed when any medium containing a mix of supported file types is presented to the system. This is essentially the same as the single content medium dialog box but with two significant differences. First, the available action options consist of a filtered list of applications relevant to all content types present on the medium. Second, there is no option to choose a permanent default action because the content types and percentages of mixed content media are too unpredictable.
Each device type offers an appropriate subset of content types for AutoPlay configuration. In turn, each content type, when selected, offers an appropriate list of action options in the list box. If it is the case, you may as well try to modify Registry Editor value to see if it can fix the AutoPlay not working issue on Windows Input regedit and click OK to get into the Service. Choose the set the Decimal value as 91 and click OK to save the changes.
To sum up, as for AutoPlay not working after plugging a media device on Windows 10, the methods above are all you need to try. No matter to reset the defaults for AutoPlay or to change Shell Hardware Detection service or to change registry value for AutoPlay, if necessary, you can use them all to fix this AutoPlay issue on Windows How to Customize Autoplay Settings on Windows 10?
Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. You seem clueless. Re-read my post. What I said is that I already set it to Allow and that's not working. In typical MS weirdness, I opened Edge and the station started autoplaying. Still, I went into the flags to change the setting.
For you instructions, you need to change "On" to "Enabled", as that is the option these days. This is a recent change, something an update must have messed up. How to fix it? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
